Here we go again – after some months of silence on the hand lettering front, I´m back at a new level. I started using photoshop to take my hand lettering creations to the digital world and apply some colour as my “testers” have suggested to do. This required some investments – first, in a graphic tablet to save my poor wrist from the negative impact of obsessive use of the mouse. Second, in finally learning photoshop, which drives me a little nuts as it is the opposite of “intuitive usability”, at least for my taste. It is close to impossible to figure out myself how things work. But – HAH! – I tackled some of my challenges with a little help from the youtube community and a 1000-page book on the matter. Now I have some basic tools which already get me much further than where I was some weeks back (“I scanned it, and now what…?”). Over the next few weeks, I’m sure I will create some more, but today, I will show one.

The secret? Clipping masks and 80 colors of Polychromos pencils 🙂 Well, not to forget blood, sweat and tears, of course.
